Our History of Crystal Ball

- a history of philanthropic support

Thirty-three years ago, an elegant affaire designed to recognize hospital donors was held on the roof of the north parking structure at Methodist Hospital. With its popularity increasing, the Crystal Ball, now a fundraising event, has become “the” social event of the San Gabriel Valley. Throughout its history it has generated approximately $10.5 million dollars to support programs such as the COVID-19 Fund, Comprehensive Stroke and Endovascular Services, creation of a new state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Unit, expansion of Cardiac, Stroke, and Emergency Services, and the purchase of advanced technology and equipment at USC Arcadia Hospital.

This gala fundraiser features a hosted reception, fine dining, a silent auction, a remarkable live auction, entertainment, and plenty of dancing! An exciting tradition of this event is the performance of headline entertainment. Some of the talented performers featured in years past include Kool & The Gang, Paul Anka, Kenny Loggins, The Beach Boys, Smokey Robinson, Natalie Cole, and Foreigner.

This year’s Crystal Ball returns to Pasadena Convention Center on Saturday, October 7th! This 33rd celebration will honor Dr. Heiner Vogelbach for his more than 30 years of service and healing mission at USCH Arcadia Hospital, formerly known as Methodist Hospital and his family’s charitable support and many contributions to USC Arcadia Hospital Foundation and our annual fundraisers. Proceeds from this year’s Crystal Ball will support the purchase of a New Bi-Plane Imaging System for the hospital.

We invite you to join us at this year’s Crystal Ball and support USC Arcadia Hospital mission “to provide high-quality healing services while caring for the patient's emotional and spiritual needs and enabling them to achieve health for life.” Mor more information contact us at USC Arcadia Hospital Foundation at (626) 898-8888 or at crystalball@med.usc.edu.
